Questions
Questions about extensions at Lengthwise
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. Every install begins with one, so the method, the shade and the schedule are chosen before anything is ordered.
How do I choose between tape-in, hand-tied and keratin tips?
Your hair, your schedule and how you wear it. The comparison on the home page shows the difference, and your stylist decides with you.
How long does an install take?
Two to three hours for tape-in, three to four for hand-tied and four to six for keratin tips.
How often are move-ups?
Every 6 to 8 weeks for tape-in, 8 to 10 for hand-tied and 10 to 12 for keratin tips. We book the next one before you leave.
Do you work with my hair type?
We work with straight, wavy and curly hair. Your stylist looks at texture and density at the consultation.
Can you match my color?
We match it in daylight and tone the length so it blends. Results vary with your hair and its history.
What do I bring to the consultation?
Photos of the length and color you like, and a note of anything that has been on your hair in the last year.
How does a deposit work?
A deposit holds the time for an install or a move-up and goes toward your service. A consultation takes none.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the method, the length and the stylist's level. We explain how on the pricing page, and the booking page shows our prices.
How do I care for them between visits?
Wash gently, brush from the ends up and keep conditioner off the roots. The care page has the rest.
